Dr. Karl Mootoosamy and Mr. Jörn Krausser, Head of Product Dertour (Indian Ocean)

Dr. Karl Mootoosamy together with MTPA Germany today met Mr. Jörn Krausser, Head of Product Dertour (Indian Ocean) at ITB 2010 in Berlin. He extended Dertour’s enthusiastic support to sell the Mauritius product, which offers a wide range of activities along with quality and service excellence.

The main focus of the meeting was regarding the planned 8-pages supplement on Mauritius with a circulation of 220.000 to all of Dertour winter brochures Indian Ocean 2010/ 2011. This supplement will contain interesting tourist information about Mauritius such as sightseeing and the wide range of activities on the island.

Dertour, THE German specialist for tailor-made holidays belongs to the REWE group travel and tourism division which is the number two in the German travel industry. 

This year, more than 110,000 trade visitors are expected at the show, where once again they will be finding out about all the tourism products and services on offer.

David Ruetz, Senior Manager ITB Berlin emphasized that: "The recession has had a severe impact on every holiday destination in the world and has affected all forms of vacationing. With this in mind, ITB Berlin as a network platform and marketing instrument for exhibitors and trade visitors has become more important than ever”.

ITB Berlin is the world's leading travel trade show. In 2009 a total of 11,098 companies from 187 countries exhibited their products and services to 178,971 visitors, who included 110,857 trade visitors.
